Country-specific rules

Each Nordic country implements the EU Nitrates Directive differently. Freyr encodes the nitrogen and reporting rules for Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and France as we have understood and entered them. Finnish rules are the most complete; coverage for the other countries is still being verified, so treat non-Finnish figures as a starting point and confirm them yourself.

When you select your country in Settings, Freyr applies that country’s rule set to your calculations and reports. If regulations change (for example, Finland updating nitrogen norms for a new growing season), the reference data has to be updated before your reports reflect the new rules. Freyr shows when the reference data was last updated so you can judge whether it is current — and you should always check the figures against your national authority’s current guidance before you submit.
